The 2nd International Lighting Designer's workshop "Rethink the NIght" started earlier this week on the island of Kea, Greece.
To begin Ruairí O’Brien gave a lecture titled “Darkness in Literature, Art and Architecture" to help prepare and inspire the participants for the days ahead.
Participants taking part include professional lighting designers, architects, scientists, astronomers and students of lighting design from Greece, Mexico, Austria, Germany, Spain, Hungary, Korea and India.
During the week the participants will be working on small lighting exercises under the famous „Dark Sky“ of the island Kea. The participants have been assigned small churches and chapels to work with. The final presentation of the workshop results will take place on friday evening.
The MSLD - Mobile School of Lighting Design is a supporting partner of this unique Lighting Designers event.
