Its great to be in a big city like frankfurt for a lighting trade fair. The "light and Build" trade fair is certainly special, all the big and small players in the lighting world converge and converse. Halls and halls of lights and smart people talking about light. In the evening theres the added attraction of the "luminale". I have done four projects for the luminale, two as a professor with my students, creating a "Lightmachine" and a "Light installtion" in previous years. Two years ago I started up a "Light Walk" working with daylight and nightlight. I concentrated on the inner city area around the Römerplatz, the old and the new face of the city, both sides of the river, old haunts were I spent time when I first came to germany and lived in Frankfurt. This year I concentrated on the area around Bockenheim, an area of great interest, university buildings, wine bars and students which is in a phase of change.
