A Lighting concept for the Carl Bergmann House from Bruno Paul in Dresden - Ruairí O'Brien

I have just finished installing the lighting concept for a very beautiful historical building designed by the famous architect Bruno Paul in 1929. It now house's the architectural institute of Saxony.
The lighting technology used was sponsored by the Hess Company.
The concept developed will allow the house to have many different expressions depending on the season of the year or the occasion being celebrated, varying from a reserved, quiet and respectful lighting composition for everyday to a festive and extravagant party atmosphere for extroverted events. This is important as the house is now a public building celebrating the importance of architecture in society. Throughout the year the architecture society organizes many different types of events ranging from lectures, exhibitions, seminars to political discussions and debates. It is also the administration offices for the architects of Saxony
A central idea of the lighting concept was to create different types of lighting scenarios and atmospheres so that one can use the house and garden to demonstrate the importance of lighting in the enjoyment and discovery of space at night. We were also responsible for the modernization and renovation of the garden seating areas walkways footpaths and terraces.
One will be able to discuss light and its beauty with colleagues, architects and landscape architects, students and clients while taking a stroll around the house and the beautiful garden at different times of the year.
