Ruairí O'Brien launches Mobile School of Lighting Design in London at the LuxLive Lighting trade fair

The MSLD – Mobile School of Lighting Design – was successfully launched on the 19th November at Great Britain’s largest lighting trade fair luxlive 2014 in London. Ruairí O’Brien and Berry van Egten presented the new and innovative education concept to a large audience of lighting experts and visitors to the trade fair.

MSLD – Mobile School of Lighting Design is a lighting design school for professional designers, members of the lighting industry, students and all those interested in light and lighting design.

MSLD has a unique mobile concept and is free to move from place to place like “the bee visiting the flowers”.

MSLD’s mission statement is to spread the word about the importance of good lighting design across all borders, to inspire and to influence future city planing and to encourage crossfertilization among the design disciplines.

MSLD has set itself the task to create a greater awareness and understanding of the phenomena of light and its importance to humankind in a singular way.

MSLD has an inclusive and sustainable teaching concept where the school visits its students, professional clients and the public in general.

The MSLD follows a five I’s approach:
Inspire
Include
Instruct
Initiate
I-You-We
